Bio

Andi Widmer was born in Switzerland in 1977. His childhood pleasures include drawing, painting, cycling, whistling, daydreaming and observing the flight of outstanding gliders. These passions have remained with him to this day in one form or another. Drawing and painting has been largely replaced by photography and he has made cinematography his profession. Sometimes he regrets it because he thinks that sheer daydreaming would have been the better choice. At the Vienna Film Academy he studied with Christian Berger, Thomas Benesch and Wolfgang Thaler and learned, among other things, that the craft is best learned behind the camera. That’s why he shoots as much as he can. For then he is in the right place at the right time and doesn’t regret anything.
